City & Guilds 2365 Level 2 Electrical Diploma

The Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation is the traditional gateway into the Electrical industry. This is where you learn all the practical skills and knowledge to allow you to enter the workplace.

Wiring circuits, building electrical installations, maintenance, fault finding, Inspection & Testing are all fundamentals covered in the Level 2 Diploma. Along with the essential theory elements you will gain the confidence and ability to build a successful career in Electrical work.

This course is comprised of five units which are a mixture of practical and written work. These include:

  • Health & Safety
  • Electrical Scientific Principles
  • Electrical Installation technology
  • Practical unit (Electrical installation project)
  • Communication within the building industry

£2450.00 excl VAT - Flexible evenings/weekends over a 15-week period.

Our Diploma Syllabus takes place on evenings and weekends. Evening theory lectures are on ZOOM/TEAMS (live with your tutor) and practical sessions are on weekends in our workshops (London or Hemel Hempstead) where you will undertake all your practical work and assessments.

We run our Diploma courses on Saturdays at both our training centre's and once signed up with us you can attend either, or both centre's to complete your course. We operate a flexible approach to learning dependent on your location and we are always there to help. 

Simply book up on the month you want to start and we will send you your text book and organise convenient dates for your attendance.

Don't worry if you miss a date, there will always be opportunities to catch up and we run many weekend classes where you can network with other students to extend your knowledge and meet people already working in the industry who can help you to gain valuable work experience.

This qualification allows the learner to acquire knowledge and craft skills of electrical installation It does not require occupational evidence from the workplace, so is suitable for learners who currently do not work within the electrical Industry (but may wish to do so).

To become an electrician in the UK you will need to combine training, experience and a final assessment. This can normally be completed as either an apprenticeship over a 4 year period or by breaking the elements down into more manageable steps over a 2-3 year period via a Diploma . NVQ & AM2E ).

The Activate Training approach allows you to undertake the training elements to gain the knowledge and skills to effectively enter into the electrical industry and find work.

We start with domestic electrics and then each stage takes you closer to becoming a registered electrician. Becoming an electrician is definitely a journey and taking your training one step at a time is by far the most efficient and effective way to achieve your goal.

Everyone starts at the same point; everyone is on the Level 2 Diploma In Electrical Installation. We begin with the relevant Domestic modules of the Level 2 Diploma qualification and progress to the more in depth electrical science and knowledge units.

Your route plan is basically Beginner, to Domestic Installer, to Registered Electrician!

On completion of the Level 2 Diploma you can progress to Level 3 and complete your Electrical NVQ in the work place.

Diploma program v Apprenticeship

The skills and knowledge learned in both programs are the same, both qualification routes contain the same content. The big difference is employment. To do an apprenticeship you need a job but on the Diploma route a job comes after your training, although many Diploma students successfully gain employment during their training and actually progress to Electrician’s Mate and Improver status faster than the apprentice.
